Changes to the Longhouse - Perry Ground, Onondaga Nation Turtle Clan, traditional storyteller and cultural educator will tell the story of the arrival of European settlers and how they changed Haudenosaunee lifestyles tremendously. How they adapted to this changing environment is the focus of this presentation. Trade for beaver pelts between Native people and European settlers will be highlighted along with the introduction of new goods and ideas. Explorers, colonial relationships, reservations and lifestyles today are topics discussed and illustrated with artifacts and replica materials made by Native peoples.
